Good news for bargain hunters; Mania Gent stays open in February 2008. Expect some serious discounts on the stock that is still there. Opening hours for February; every Friday from 13.00 to 19.00 and every Saturday from 13.00 to 18.00.
Meanwhile join the discussion on my previous post because there is a small chance that the shop reopens in another form and shape.
And last but not least, Rick Brands added some more gorgeous black and white pictures of the shop on this photobucket link.

This is the 4th post on the Best Soul and Funk Audioblogs. Previous post can be found in the Blogroll-Audio Blogs in the column on the right.
Home Of The Groove is a site dedicated to music coming from New Orleans. The site features rare, vintage New Orleans related rhythm & blues and funk mp3’s. Each song has great commentary by site owner Dan Phillips. He used to work for a radio station in Memphis where he had a program “New Orleans: Under the Influence” from 1988 to 2004. In October 2004 he started his blog.

Like all other audioblog posts in this series the music on Home Of The Groove is for educational purposes and the mp3’s are accessible for about 10 days only. You have to visit often if you don’t want to miss a groove.
Audio on this blog is posted for reference purposes only. Please do not link directly to the audio files. Download and listen responsibly and in moderation. For exended listening, try the webcast.
But there is more on the Home Of The Groove site. Follow this link and you find a page were you can listen to an audio stream with access to the text archives, too. Highly recommended!
