This is my third post on Soul and Funk Audioblogs. Previous posts can be found here and here.
Office Naps - fresh 45 rpm curios every monday is maintained by DJ Little Danny from Austin + Marfa in Texas. He also hosts a radio show on Marfa Public Radio every Wednesday evening from 9 pm ’til Midnight (CST) were he plays jazz, latin, soul, exotica and soundtracks.

He writes with great passion about music (nog only soul and funk) and knows his stuff extremely well. Recent posts include; Chicago Soul pt 2, Message From The Ghetto and West Coast Boogaloo pt 2.
If you are into ‘obscure’ 7inch soul and funk singles you are at the right address. Like the other Soul and Funk Audioblogs I recommended before, Office Naps posts MP3’s for educational purposes only. This is what DJ Little Danny says on his blog;
Sound files are posted for educational purposes only, and will be removed upon request. Are you a member of a band or an artist that I’ve featured? Get in touch and set the record straight!

Two times a year the Pink Flamingo’s Kitch & Lounge bar throws down a big party in the ‘balzaal’ of the Vooruit. If you have never gone to one of those party’s you don’t what you are missing.
The next Pink Flamingo’s Royale takes place on January the 26th. DJ’s that night are Meinhof, Inspector Clay, Divine and The Architect. Get ready for some stomping soul and funk, fresh pop tunes, great rock’n'roll and tons of good vibes.
The doors open at 22.00 hr. Tickets are €6 in presale and €9 at the door.

The Mania Gent clearance sales are a success. Hundreds of happy customers left the shop with large bags filled with vinyl, cd’s and dvd’s. You might think that all records and cd’s are gone now. Well it is not over yet….

The Mania crew found time to fill the gaps with fresh stuff. Thousands of cd’s were added to the stock last week.
So it might be a good idea to visit the shop (again), especially if you are a metal fan. The metal section is now doubled in size, taking over half of the first and the second floor.
Opening hours in December
The sales will continue in January 2008. There is even a small chance that the shop reopens in another form and shape. What do you think has to be done to make a reopening a success?
